Leather sustainability

Genuine natural leather, in addition to being an extremely luxurious product, has certain characteristics that make it a highly sustainable material, especially when compared to alternative materials which, to those who study the subject, appear to be significantly less sustainable than genuine leather.

Such alternative materials are in fact derived in whole or in part from the hydrocarbons of plastic.

In addition to being less environmentally sustainable, these alternative materials have a shorter life and therefore need to be disposed of more quickly. See the attached scientific publication for the detailed analysis.
